Innovation within Umicore Zinc Chemicals
Umicore RDI, Umicore’s central research platform in Olen (Belgium) is the corner stone of innovation within the business line zinc oxide : it drives the continuous development of new products and businesses.
A close co-operation between this platform and the Application and Product Development Department of Umicore zinc oxide ensures for a well balanced development portfolio :
- Umicore Zinc Chemicals recently launched ZANO®, a nano zinc oxide providing excellent UV properties in transparent applications
- Our high purity zinc oxide HP ZnO (99.995 %) was developed for electronic applications (such as sputtering targets and lasers) as well as for specialty cosmetic and medical applications.
- Application Development Managers have been trained to understand the applications of our customers. They collaborate with Umicore RDI , universities and key customers to improve our existing zinc oxide grades, to develop new products for the many zinc oxide applications, and to provide for technical service.
